Effects

Using this skill adds the Shield builder to the Gambit panel.

Although the tooltip states that this skill does Ranged damage, it in fact does damage based on the type of Shield-spikes currently applied.

Skill Interactions

This skill is replaced by  Shield-bash when toggling  In the Fray - Stance.

Using the skill  Battle Preparation temporarily replaces this skill with  Prepare Shield, which allows the builder to be used outside of combat.

Trait Interactions

Recklessness trait tree

• The set bonus  Martial Fury increases the damage of this skill by 10%.

Assailment trait tree

• The trait  Ranged Damage increases the damage of this skill by up to 10%.

• The trait  Bulls-eye increases the Critical Damage of this skill by up to 15%.

• The trait  Throwing Arm increases the range of this skill by up to 10m.

• The trait  Strong Foundations makes this skill reduce the active cooldown of Shield Mastery skills by up to 2 seconds.

• The trait  Piercing Javelins makes this skill have up to 4% resistance penetration.

Tracery Interactions

• Gambit Builder Damage increases the damage of this skill by up to 38.5%.
